School Performance & Results

Throughout your child’s time at Nene and Ramnoth they will be assessed. These take place within school and in line with statutory assessments. These support teachers to adapt and plan for learning and to ensure challenge is in place for your child.

GLD

A 'Good Level of Development' (GLD) is a key measure of child attainment at the end of the Reception year (EYFS) in England. Children reach GLD if they achieve at least the 'expected' level in 12 Early Learning Goals (ELGs) across prime areas (PSED, Physical, Communication) plus Literacy and Mathematics.  Reception children are assessed in June.

Phonics

We follow the DfE validated 'Little Wandle' phonics programme which draws on the latest research on how best to enable children to apply their learning to become fluent, confident readers. The screening takes place in June for Year 1 children.  Children who did not pass the screening are reassessed in Year 2.

Year 4 Multiplication Tables Check

The purpose of the MTC is to determine whether our Year 4 children can recall their times tables fluently up to 12, through a set of 25 timed questions. This skill is essential for future success in mathematics and the check will help schools identify children who have not yet mastered this and provide additional support. The table below shows the percentage score for children who answered 20+ questions correctly:

Year 6 SATS

These Standard Assessment Tests (SATs) are mandatory tests for children in England held in May to assess knowledge of the Key Stage 2 curriculum. Our Year 6 children sit papers in:

• English grammar, punctuation and spelling
• English reading
• Mathematics

Results are reported as 'scaled scores' (80-120), with 100 being the expected national standard.
